About GAMP HOUSE

― A traditional house inn where people connect and hearts unwind. ―

GAMP HOUSE is Iwaki City’s first farmhouse-style guesthouse,
restored from a traditional thatched-roof house originally built during the Edo period, Kyōhō era.

TADA, the village head who has continued to care for this house,
started this guesthouse out of a desire to create a safe place for the region affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake
and for young people struggling with uncertainty in their hearts.

“GAMP” stands for “Go At My Pace”—a reminder to live life at your own rhythm.
There’s no air conditioning, partitions, or modern conveniences,
but in their place, conversations naturally arise around the irori hearth,
and the distance between people gently shrinks.

This is a place where anyone can rediscover themselves, surrounded by the flow of unhurried, natural time.

Stay Experience in a Traditional House

― Moments Around the Irori ―

A stay at GAMP HOUSE is a time to feel warmth, rather than convenience.
At dusk, the irori fire is lit, and all guests gather around a single table.
Even people meeting for the first time soon laugh together like family—
there is a unique, welcoming atmosphere here.

Chatting with the elders, sharing stories with travelers,
and spending the night surrounded by nature.
By putting aside your smartphone and freeing your mind,
the clamor of daily life gradually drifts away.

The over 280-year-old traditional house tells the story of the simple happiness of people supporting one another.
GAMP HOUSE is a place that reminds us of this very “foundation” of life.
